The Pavers Foundation has donated £500 to the Willow Foundation, a national charitable organisation that facilitates special days out for seriously ill adults. The Foundation donated the money on behalf of Sarah Wyatt, a Pavers colleague based in Hatfield.
Founded by Bob and Megs Wilson and operational since 1999, Willow acts as a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer at the age of 31. Willow works to give 16 – 40-year-olds who are living with life-altering illnesses or conditions a joyful and special day to remember. This could be a short break away from home, a day out to a nature reserve or theme park or for those who may struggle to get out an about an at home spa day or movie night could be arranged. Having helped 22,000 people make some magical memories since first starting out, Willow now aims to help around 1,200 individuals every year.
Caz Mitchell, Senior Manager at Willow said: “Thank you for helping to make the magic happen and thank you on behalf of those who will receive the gift of a Special Day. We couldn’t deliver our much-needed services without supporters like the Pavers Foundation”.
On why she chose to support Willow, successful applicant Sarah said: “I grew up with Anna, she was such a lovely girl, and I really just wanted to try and do something to help this special charity”.
