The under 10s of Saffron Dynamo Football Club has received a £500 donation from The Pavers Foundation. Samantha Grove, from Pavers Stapleton, was the successful applicant from the employee-led, charitable giving scheme.
Based on the outskirts of South Leicester, the Saffon Dynamos Phoenix is a local under 10’s team, led by a group of volunteers, who aim to give opportunities for youngsters to play football in a friendly and supportive environment. The coaching team also strive to support the mental health and general well-being of their players, fostering the importance of the mental and physical benefits of exercise and team sports.
To help keep the young players properly geared up through the cold winter months, the team were awarded their donation from The Pavers Foundation in December with the funds going towards their winter training kit.
The team Manager, Reece Stewart, said, “As a self-funding kids football team we’re really grateful for this donation. It’ll help our team with kit and accessories that we need through winter and help and will keep the young lads going for another year.”
Successful applicant Samantha told us, “The team is a small supportive football club which gives children and adults brilliant opportunities to be part of a friendly team. They heavily rely on their volunteers to help run the club, which everyone does with because they love seeing the players achieve their goals!”
