The Prince of Wales Hospice, based in Pontefract has received in the last year a total of £3,200 from the Pavers Foundation. The Foundation has donated the money on behalf of the team at Pavers Castleford.
The Prince of Wales Hospice helps to provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting conditions and their families. The funds raised will be used to purchase a specialised recliner chair for use in one of the hospice’s in-care bedrooms.
The chairs are designed to allow patients to have a sense of comfort and independence as they would in their own home. Enabling them to sit, eat, socialise and enjoy activities out of their beds. Phil Bond, Trusts and Gifts Fundraiser at the Price of Wales Hospice, said “Thanks to the support from the Pavers Foundation, we will be able to provide comfort, peace and dignity to our patients and significantly enhancing our patients’ quality of life”.
The team at Castleford Pavers are regular supporters of The Prince of Wales Hospice, often raising additional funds instore. Suzanne Stead from the Castleford store said, “This is a charity close to all our hearts at Pavers Castleford. Many of our family members have spent their last moments there and as a team love to come together to support this amazing organisation”.
