Nai's House

Annette Bosher, from Pavers Bicester, has donated £1,000 to Nai’s House, a suicide prevention charity based in Bicester.

Gem Barrett, Founder of Nai’s House, created the charity in memory of her daughter, Dené, who after many years of struggling with her mental wellbeing tragically took her own life in 2017.  Nai’s House now supports service users from the ages of 5 to 30, believing that investing in prevention and supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of future generations is the key to reducing the numbers of death by suicide in young people.

Shirin, Mentor and Support Team member from Nai’s House, thanked the Pavers Foundation for the kind donation and added, “This money will pay for 40 support sessions, helping anyone in crisis. These meetings are to give our guests a voice to be heard and share any struggles they are facing”. Nai’s House not only offers support sessions to those in need but additionally delivers training in suicide prevention to the wider community.

On why she chose to nominate Nai’s House Annette, who knew of Dené through her niece, said, “I was inspired to help Nai’s House as my niece and Dené were really good friends when they were at school”. Annette also confirmed the significance of the impact of the organisation adding, “their work is so important to our community in helping young people deal with their mental health difficulties”.
