The Pavers Foundation has donated £1,000 to Kilcummin National School, in Killarney. The Foundation donated the money on behalf of Chloe Whelan, a Pavers colleague from the Killarney store.
The school has aims to build a sensory room, of which all children will be able to use and benefit from, but additionally it will provide a safe and calming space allowing students with additional needs a place to help with self-regulation, wellbeing and development of key skills.
School Principal Gillian Sheehan said, “Words cannot express our gratitude to your generous and caring organisation for the incredible donation that you have made to our school. We have still a bit to go on our fundraising journey, but your kindness and generosity have made a huge impression on our school community and have helped us immensely as we approach our dream. The Pavers Foundation donation will have an effective and positive change for all at Kilcummin National School.”
Chole wanted to give back Kilcummin School after previously completing student teacher training at the school and working in person with the children there. Chloe said, ‘After working first-hand with the fabulous children at Kilcummin I wanted to give back by helping to raise some funding for the sensory room which would be a great help to the students in all aspects of their school life.’
