Greenfingers

Tracy Etches, a Pavers colleague based in Lincoln, who applied for a grant through the Pavers Foundation has recently donated £500 to Greenfingers, a charity that designs and creates gardens within children’s hospices.

Since it’s in launch in 1999, Greenfingers have created almost 70 therapeutic gardens within children’s hospices across the UK. Gardens built by Greenfingers are designed for children and their families with the belief that time spent outdoors can help relieve some stresses while also giving the opportunity to embrace the benefits of being away from their beds by spending time in the fresh air and engaging with natural environment.

Speaking of the donation, Greenfingers Director of Fundraising & Communications, Linda Petrons said: “We are enormously grateful to all at the Pavers Foundation for so generously supporting us.  This wonderful donation is a fantastic boost and will help to make a very real difference to our work creating therapeutic gardens in children’s hospices.”

Tracey was inspired by her grandson, 9-year-old George, who with cerebral palsy and autism participated in an 8-mile charity walk to fundraise for Greenfingers. Tracy said “All Greenfingers gardens are unique and beautiful and are created to make life a little better for children and their families in hospices.”
