The Pavers Foundation, has donated £1000 to Ferrybridge Community Centre. The Foundation donated the money on behalf of Karen Richardson, a Pavers colleague based in Castleford who applied through the employee-led, charitable giving scheme.
Ferry Bridge Community Centre offers a space for various group meet ups, activities and events for many in the community and is described by Karen as, ‘a fabulous community resource and a safe space for many’. She adds ‘I am so delighted to be able to support and help to give back to my local community through the Pavers Foundation’.
Centre Manager, Rachel Spark, spoke of how the cost-of-living crisis is affecting their community and the rise the centre has seen in registrations for their foodbank. She stated, ‘even those in employment are struggling, which makes this extra funding so important, it will have a massive impact on what we do here’.
The donation from the Pavers Foundation will be used to help set up a new young mum and baby group, where attendees can connect with others, share difficulties and access support and advice.
